How Spiritbox built fan anticipation and early streams with Sonikit
Spiritbox has one of the most devoted fanbase's in metal and they're always on the look out for new music from the band. To keep fans in suspense and tease their new single, Soft Spine, the band's team created an interactive audio puzzle with a hint of what's to come.
The puzzle site was integrated with a custom Sonikit pre-save that allowed the team to embed the pre-save directly into a custom website. To enter the site, fans were asked to pre-save the upcoming release. This allowed complete control over the site's design while also allowing fans to pre-save across any streaming service from the same location. The site also integrated Sonikit's custom pre-save countdown that was revealed when the puzzle was successfully solved.
The band teamed up with interactive design studio, Wayward Creative, to create a symbol-based password that triggered different audio clips. When clicked in the correct order, the puzzle was solved and fans were shown an animated countdown timer counting down to the release.
By leveraging customizations and a direct streaming embed, the campaign resulted in huge fan engagement and audience growth. Analytics and data collected during the roll-out helped gain valuable fan insights to assist with the next phase of the campaign.
