Billy Strings drives fan engagement with a custom Sonikit pre-save integration

For his latest release, Highway Prayers, Billy Strings tapped into classic road trip vibes for an interactive pre-save campaign. With listening party events and tour dates planned across the country for the upcoming release, a custom map experience was the perfect fit to connect with fans.

The team used a custom embedded Sonikit pre-save integration to serve as the entry point for the new events website. To enter, fans could sign in with Spotify or Apple Music to pre-save the new album. Along with pre-saving, fans could opt-in with their email address and phone number. This gave the team valuable data for keeping in touch with fans throughout the campaign.

Once they entered the site, each fan's current location was automatically detected to center the map nearest to them. Custom markers indicated where each listening party event and tour date was located to help find locations nearby. Record store locations also highlighted where exclusive vinly editions could be found and purched.

The result drove massive fan engagement and week one streams. Analytics collected from the Sonikit pre-save helped provide insight into fan demographics, informing future marketing initiatives and planning location-based outreach later in the campaign.
